THREE IMPORTANT ITEMS:
- Saturday Workday: (a note from Pastor Bob)
We are a little over a week away from ‘Harvest in the Park’ (October 28)…and the following day, Anniversary Ribbon-Cutting Sunday (October 29). As God’s stewards if this property is entrusted to us, we must do some major ‘clean up’ on our beautiful campus before next weekend. This Saturday is our last opportunity for a big workday! of which God has made us all stewards.
A workday was scheduled for this past Saturday, but the Comcast system that serves our campus was having major failures, and we were unable to email to you the announcement and instructions. I hope many of you can come and help this coming Saturday even with a late notice. We have much work to be done!
So here’s our plan:
We will work in shifts. (That’s what Nehemiah and God’s people did when rebuilding their walls.)
8:30 a.m. – Continental breakfast served and assignments given out by 9:00 a.m.
9:00-Noon – Morning shift
12:00 – Lunch
1:00-4:00 p.m. – Afternoon shift (Please come and eat lunch with us, if you choose to come for the afternoon shift.)
We will be working inside and outside…men, women, and youth are needed.
We can use skilled labor and lots of general labor of love!
Areas of focus: cleaning of white tables and chairs washing of windows in most buildings mowing and weed-eating mulch beds cleaned out / painting / some concrete poured / a wonderful, donated swing set…put up in a family-friendly picnic area some grass to be sown / lamp posts cleaned and painted / buses and vans washed and cleaned out / pods cleaned out
As you can see…much, much, and very much work to be accomplished! I love the commentary on God’s people when they were humbled and hungry for God…and had a passion for the ‘walls to be rebuilt’. The Scriptures say, “They had a mind to work”. Wow! We can be those same people! The greatest blessing of the day (even above the work accomplished) will be ‘the fellowship with one another we will all enjoy’ as we work together for God’s glory.
